Die third edition of the ABC Open badminton tournament, organized by ABC Frankfurt, took place on May 17 and 18, 2025, in Frankfurt and what a weekend it was! With players coming from all across Germany and abroad, the tournament once again brought together a passionate international badminton community for two days filled with competition, sportsmanship, and unforgettable moments.
This year’s edition reached a new milestone with 336 players participating across all disciplines, including 109 women und 227 men. Over the course of the weekend, an impressive 548 games were played, totaling 4355 points scored on court.
The event welcomed players from 22 different nationalities, highlighting the international spirit that has become a core identity of the ABC Open. Participants represented countries including France, Germany, India, Indonesia, China, Japan, USA, Vietnam, Malaysia, Ukraine, and many more.
The level of competition was intense across all categories, from hobby players to highly competitive matches. The longest match of the tournament lasted 77 minutes in Men’s Singles B, while the fastest match was completed in just 16 minutes in Mixed Doubles Hobby — proving once again that every rally and every game brought its own story.
We were especially happy to see so many players joining us from clubs outside Frankfurt. The clubs with the highest participation this year were:
- TV Bensheim, 14 players
- BV Darmstadt, 12 players
- TTC Gnadental, 9 players
- Tura Niederhöchstadt, 9 players
- TV Hofheim, 9 players
- SG Deutsche Bank, 9 players
Beyond the competition itself, ABC Open 2025 was once again about community. Players, friends, volunteers, and supporters created an amazing atmosphere throughout the entire weekend, making the venue feel vibrant from the first serve to the final point.
A huge thank you goes to all participants, volunteers, referees, photographers, supporters, and partners who helped make this edition possible. Your energy and enthusiasm are what continue to make ABC Open grow year after year.
